During the hypnotherapy session, I’ll induce a state of mind where you’re relaxed and calm. This almost sleep-like state is when your mind is more open to suggestion. I may ask you to visualise getting on a plane or stepping into an airport. When you recognise the feelings of fear and anxiety from your phobia, I’ll offer suggestions or calming words. These will have been discussed with you and will be whatever you feel will work best for you. The idea behind this is that whenever you’re confronted by flying in the future, these words or suggestions will enter your mind. This will enable you to feel in control of your emotions.
